electronimals

This was a series of workshops I gave to children ranging from 7  to 12 years old in Delft for “De Nieuwe Amateur” during their “Lotte in Babylon” event. During the workshops we made electronic fantasy animals. These are the results of that workshop.

the scared chair

The Scared Chair is a chair that doesn’t allow you to use it and will always try to drive away. The Scared Chair has a healthy dose of fear for humans and will never allow you to sit on it by driving, or turning away from the people surrounding it.

The scared Chair has been seen in Milan on the Salone del Mobile, “Blikopener festival” in Delft, Shanghai and Hongkong.

worm.cube

The worm.cube is an online game with which you can make music. The interface is a cube which you can turn by either using your mouse or a wii-mote, every side of the cube contains samples of a music genre. By turning the cube and pressing the circle parts you can mix these samples and create music.

The worm.cube was made for Worm in Rotterdam by Huib Piguillet, Jan Trompper, Jasper Pleune, Erik Overmeire and can be found on http://cube.worm.org

Eyetracker (concept)

This a concept for a work that still has to be made.
The idea is that there is a chair opposite of a television. When someone sits down in the chair an eyetracker will make sure that the television never leaves your eyesight, by following every way you decide to look.

pong

Pong are 2 circuitbended videogames of classic Pong. You use the videogames by placing your body as a resistor in the circuit. Like this you become more than just a user, You become part of the circuit and thereby part of the machine. This creates a symbiosis between man and machine.

The interface consists of a piece of wood with five doorhandle’s screwed on, each of these doorhandle’s is connected to a point on the circuitboard. By making different connections between the doorhandle’s you will influence image and sound.

xyz-controller

The XYZ-controller is an audio/video manipulation interface which allows you to manipulate in 3 dimensions by waving your hands.
